专访YOYOW海外市场营销经理:Alex

"在最初,YOYOW确实把成为中国的Steem当做自己的战略构想。但是我们很早就知道,绝对不止于此。"当Alex谈及YOYOW时,言语之外的自信已经展露无遗了。

Alex是中国大陆的区块链团队YOYOW的团队成员之一。当区块链技术的发展借助着比特币的出现而开始揭开它的神秘面纱时,Alex也是最早一批接触到它的人之一。

YOYOW这个项目的名称来自英文 You Own Your Own Words,它致力于建立一个基于区块链的平台,用去中心化共识方式为 UGC 领域贡献定价和权益回报,通过构建一套底层网络,使得流量红利能够更加公平、合理的分配到内容生产者、内容支持者、内容筛选者和生态建设者身上,解决红利分配的不公平问题。

本周,记者有幸近距离接触到Alex,并期待从他口中更加了解他所在的YOYOW团队和他们正在运营的区块链项目的具体信息。开篇的那句话正是Alex对于记者的第一个问题的干脆回答,记者问的是:"YOYOW最初的战略构想到底是什么呢?"

在强调了YOYOW项目的借鉴和启发源头之后,Alex着重介绍了YOYOW与Steem的区别在哪里:

"在项目开始后,团队始终觉得Steem这个项目作为一个独立的内容平台,太过于中心化了。而且目前也只有个别的网站,例如Steemit和Steemd在运行它的区块链网络。这种中心化的建构方式,我们认为限制它的发展。

以Steem的模式来说,如:网站主面向内容开发app的开发商等内容行业的源头,他们就没有办法很容易接入到区块链主网系统里去。但是对于区块链技术而言,他们才是重要的需求者,根据这方面的思考,YOYOW之后的模式就有了改变,在基于平台的模式之下,多个平台就可以共同拥有区块链(技术),去搭建属于他们自己的区块链网站或者app。这相对Steem的话会更加灵活,也更加开放。

于是乎,YOYOW就成长成了我们想要的样子,一个内容平台的连接器。"

记者:"那为什么要选择UGC方向来运用区块链技术呢?据我所知区块链的可能运用领域非常的宽泛。"

Alex:"这自然会与我们的团队成员的兴趣和经历有更多的关系,这个问题要从YOYOW最初的构想开始说起了。因为YOYOW的团队中的很多骨干成员,以前也都是Bitshares中国社区和Steem中国社区的成员。

但是当时Steem团队在代币(steem power)的年化通胀率设置过高,达到了百分之二百之高,以期通过steem power的高年化通胀率来奖励代币的持有者。正是因为这个设定,Steem这个项目的代币模式变得相当复杂,而不科学、不健康、不良性的设定,导致了很多投资者蒙受损失。

所以YOYOW团队那时候就有个想法,就是提供一个比Steem更好的产品。至少是没有这么高的通胀率的,拥有更加合理的分配模式的产品。所以说这是一个传承,是专业和理想的相互作用。而不是某个人灵光一闪的结果。"

记者:"哈哈,这是一个非常有技术人语言特点的答案。刚刚我们聊得是YOYOW的源头,这是个面向历史的问题,那么我们接下来聊一个面向未来的问题:可以谈谈YOYOW 有哪些独特的创新点吗?"

Alex:"YOYOW的创新点是允许第三方平台很轻易地介入到YOYOW的区块链上面。第三方平台只需要通过一个很简单的、部署很容易的中间件,以及YOYOW钱包就可以接入到YOYOW的网络,就可以在YOYOW的网络上发布文章,获得代币奖励,进行转账,这些都可以通过中间件实现。这个中间件的设置非常精巧,但是却发挥了极为重要的作用。

根据这个中间件带来的启发,YOYOW之后也会陆续推出一些插件,让第三方的网站会更加容易地介入到拥有这个平台上面。"

记者:看来技术上的支持帮助了YOYOW取得了很好的成果。那么YOYOW目前的发展到了哪一步了吗?之后会有什么新的计划吗?

Alex:"目前,通过一年多的开发和迭代工作,YOYOW早已上线了主网,并逐步提供了多项基础的功能,如代币的转账功能,帮助内容平台完成接入的功能、还有文章的发布功能,打赏功能等,基础的功能都已经齐全齐备了。

按照我们的预期,在2019年的第一季度,YOYOW应该可以完成代币奖励功能,这是最根本的内容激励功能。目前,这个功能进展很顺利,应该能够准时发布。

生态伙伴方面,目前来说YOYOW的生态伙伴包括首个由YOYOW团队自研开发的生态产品币问;在IT和演艺领域拥有丰富的行业经验的MDL艺人社;以问答社区为基础,可打造企业知识库、行业知识社区的知识问题系统WeCenter;区块链内容平台三两知等。

在接下来的时间内,我们的生态伙伴还会进一步的扩大,目前也已经有更多的平台、还有CMS已经与我们达成了协议,将会接入我们的网络。2019年里,这方面会有比较大的进展。

记者:"YOYOW目前需要什么样的合作伙伴?这些合作伙伴为YOYOW的发展提供了什么助力呢?"

Alex:"YOYOW目前的主要伙伴,还是内容行业以及加密货币行业内的合作伙伴。通过这些合作伙伴接入YOYOW,我们可以获得相当多数量的最终用户。币问目前通过其所有的十几万个账户,使得YOYOW钱包间接增加了四万多个注册用户。"

记者:Alex期待YOYOW的未来发展是什么样的?YOYOW的使命是什么?

Alex:我希望YOYOW可以接入到更多的平台,将区块链这个概念带入到内容行业里面。让内容的创造者、提供商网站主都能够得到合理的回报。YOYOW的存在如果可以将由流量带来的红利收益进行更合理的分配,那就算是完美的完成了使命了。

When Alex talked about YOYOW, the confidence he showed was beyond words.

"At the beginning, YOYOW did make it a strategic vision to become China's Steem. But we have known for a long time that it is definitely more than that."

Alex is one of the team members of YOYOW, the blockchain team in China. When the development of blockchain technology unveiled its mystery with the advent of Bitcoin, Alex was one of the first group of people to get to know it.

The project YOYOW, an acronym of "You Own Your Own Words", aims to build a blockchain-based platform using decentralized consensus method for pricing contribution and providing equity returns in the UGC area. It has built a set of underlying networks so as to enable traffic dividends to be rationally and fairly distributed to content producers, content proponents, content filterers and ecosystem builders, which can address the problem of unfair distribution of the dividends.

This week, the reporter was fortunate enough to get close to Alex and look forward to learning more about the YOYOW team and the specific information about the blockchain projects under operation. The opening sentence is exactly the answer Alex gave to the reporter's first question. The reporter asked the question "What is the original strategic concept of YOYOW?"

After emphasizing the sources of reference and inspiration of the YOYOW project, Alex highlighted the differences between YOYOW and Steem:

"After the project started, the team always felt that the Steem project was too centralized to be an independent content platform and there are only a few websites, such as Steemit and Steemd running their blockchain networks. We think that this kind of centralized way of construction would restrict its development.Taking Steem's model as an example, for the source of the content industry, such as the webmasters and developers of content-oriented development applications, they have no way to easily access the blockchain mainnet system. But for the blockchain technology, it is this group of people who are important demanders.Based on this idea, the model of YOYOW has changed afterwards. Under the platform-based model, multiple platforms can share the blockchain technology to build their own blockchain websites or applications. This is more flexible and more open than Steem. Ever since, YOYOW has grown into what we want, a connector for the content platforms."

Reporter: "Why did YOYOW choose to apply the blockchain technology on UGC area? As far as I know, there are a broad range of areas where the blockchain technology can be used."

Alex: "This will naturally have more to do with the interests and experiences of our team members. This question starts with the original concept of YOYOW. Because many of the key members of YOYOW team used to be the team members of the Chinese community of Bitshares and Steem.

But at that time, the Steem team set the annual inflation rate of the steem power too high, reaching 200%, in order to reward the token holders with the high inflation rate of steem power. It was because of this setting that the token model of the steem project has become quite complicated, and the unscientific, unhealthy, and bad settings have caused many investors to suffer losses.

So, the YOYOW team had an idea at that time to provide a better product than Steem, at least a product that doesn't have such a high inflation rate and has a more reasonable distribution model. So, this is an inheritance, an interaction between profession and ideal rather than the result of a flash of inspiration."

Reporter: "Haha, this is an answer with the language characteristics of a technician. Just now we talked about the source of YOYOW which is a history-oriented question, then we will talk about a future-oriented question: can you talk about the unique innovation of YOYOW?"

Alex: "The innovation of YOYOW is to allow third-party platforms to easily intervene in the blockchain of YOYOW. Third-party platforms can integrate with the YOYOW network only through a very simple, easy-to-deploy middleware and the YOYOW wallet. They can post articles on the YOYOW network and get token rewards and transfer money, which can be achieved through the middleware. This middleware is very compact, but it plays an extremely important role.

Inspired by this middleware, YOYOW will also launch some plug-ins afterwards, making it easier for third-party websites to get involved in owning this platform."

Reporter: "It seems that technical support has helped YOYOW achieve good results. So what is the current development of YOYOW? Will there be any new plans after that?"

Alex: "At present, through more than a year of development and iterative work, YOYOW has already released the mainnet, and gradually provided a number of basic features, such as the feature of transferring tokens, the feature of helping the content platforms to integrate with the network, the feature of posting articles, and the reward feature, etc. The basic features are all complete.

According to our expectation, in the first quarter of 2019, YOYOW should be able to complete the token reward feature, which is the most fundamental content incentive feature. At present, this feature is progressing smoothly and should be released on time.

In terms of ecological partners, YOYOW's ecological partners currently include the first eco-product Biask developed by the YOYOW team, the MDL Talent Hub community with rich industry experience in IT and performing arts, the knowledge community WeCenter which can build business knowledge systems and create a knowledge community of the industry based on the Q&A community, and the blockchain-based content platform 32Know.

In the coming period, our ecological partners will further expand. At present, there are more platforms and CMSs have already reached an agreement with us and will integrate with our network. In 2019, there will be considerable progress in this area."

Reporter: "What kind of partners does YOYOW need at present? What kind of support do these partners provide for the development of YOYOW?"

Alex: "YOYOW's current main partners are partners in the content industry and the cryptocurrency industry. With these partners integrating with the YOYOW network, we can get a considerable number of end users. At present, Biask has indirectly added more than 40,000 registered users to the YOYOW wallet through its nearly two hundred thousand accounts."

Reporter: "Alex, what do you expect from the future development of YOYOW? What is the mission of YOYOW?"

Alex: "I hope that YOYOW can integrate with more platforms and bring the concept of blockchain to the content industry and enable the content producers and the provider website owner to get reasonable returns. If the existence of YOYOW can make a more reasonable distribution of the dividend income brought by the traffic, it is a perfect completion of the mission."
